Studio History
In the late 1950’s a
young serviceman returned from South Korea to the downriver area as the 1st
American Dan (Black Belt) in the history of Tang Soo Do (Soo Bahk Do). His name
is Dale Drouillard Dan Bon (Black Belt Number) 757 and he established the first
Tang Soo Do (Soo Bahk Do) studio in Michigan at the Wyandotte YMCA. Through a
series of events the studio was passed on to one of Master Drouillard’s premier
students; Russ Hanke Dan Bon 4137. Sa Bom Nim Hanke continued
operating/instructing at the studio and it became the mainstay of several
studios in the downriver area supplying them with highly qualified instructors
through the years. The Wyandotte studio is now one of the oldest continually
operating studios in the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation with the
studio certification number 4. Now, after over 45 years of the highest
standards of training and instruction, we welcome you. |
